March

Following the successful complete of the Multi-Level Intake (MLI) structure for SK Engineering in the south of Lao, Whessoe Lao have since been awarded a number of smaller projects. These include the full design, fabrication, installation and commission of the crane beam structures, modification to the weir’s existing trash racks, 10 x gates for water control in the tail race channel, void detection in the steel lining and the installation and commissioning of a 4m diameter butterfly valve.

Whessoe recently attended the Hydro Asia conference in Danang, Vietnam. The information gathered on new projects within in ASEAN region strategically puts Whessoe in a strong position having permanent workshops and past experience in the regions of the up and coming schemes.

January

Whessoe Sdn Bhd was recently awarded the Hydro Mechanical works on the Nam Kong 3 HEPP by the Main Contractor – China Gezhouba Group. The project was awarded following the successful completion of the Nam Kong 2 project. Nam Kong 3 is also owned by Chaleun Sekong Energy. The Project is full EPCC consisting of Radial Gates, Steel lining / Penstocks, intake gates, environmental flow pipe works, bottom outlet gates and valves. Fabrication is expected to start in June following the completion of the design by our subsidiary company KGAL Consulting Engineers.

December

Whessoe Lao recently completed the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the Bottom Outlet for Chaleun Sekong Energy (CSE) in what was a small but complex project. The works included steel lining, gate and cone valves (2m Dia), modification to existing gates and the full supply of the electrical and SCADA systems.

Whessoe Lao were awarded a 5 year contract for the Maintenance of the Hydro Mechanical equipment on the largest operating dam in Laos. The Maintenance works will be carried out from January 2018. As Whessoe grows as a group we are looking to expand the maintenance side of our business development plans which co-insides with the acquirement of KGAL Consultant Engineers.
